Absence of thousands of fishermen on Election Day
Absence of thousands of fishermen on Election Day

Devbhoomi Dwarka: On one hand, the electoral administration is making great efforts for maximum voting on the other hand; due to lack of awareness thousands of fishermen from Saurashtra including Dwarka will be deprived of voting as they had already left the port for fishing in the sea. Hence, the absence of a large number of fishermen will directly impact the polling.

As the danger of Okhi cyclone subsided so about 5800 fishing boats of Devbhoomi Dwarka carrying average 35000 fishermen had already left the port for fishing in the sea. Usually, one fishing trip last for a couple of days and in between the first phase of election is going to be held. Hence, thousands of fishermen would be absent on the Election Day to vote.

The efforts were taken by the electoral organization for maximum voting turn to be a fiasco. The absence of thousands of fishermen on Election Day would affect the election results. In such condition, it is a matter of question that which party will be benefited????
