Banaskantha Farmers calls off hunger strike

The farmers of Vav Taluka had been protesting by sitting on hunger strike. As per the information, the reason behind the strike was not released in Minor Canal of Dhima village, despite the frequent submission of application from the village of Dhima in Wav Taluka for releasing water in the canal. In spite of submission of applications, farmers did not get the problem solved.

On Saturday at Collector's office, the strike was over as the matter was settled.

Farmers said about the release of water in  Dhima Minor canal, we have to die if do not get water, if we do not get water on a hunger strike, then the farmer ran away in a mechanism to boycott the election. Following that, the Tharad Deputy Collector, Narmada Nigam Officer G. R. Rao had met with the farmers on Saturday and threatened the employees of Narmada Nigam for the immediate release of water, at any cost. 

The farmers should get water until Sunday and take legal action will be taken against the farmers of the unauthorized land and types of machinery.Farmers ended the hunger strike after getting full assurance from Narmada officer G.I.Raval.
