Driver training institute in Rajkot
Rajkot: An Institute of Driver Training and Research (IDTR) will be set up in Rajkot by Maruti Suzuki. This is the second institute opened by Maruti Suzuki in the State after the first on in Waghodia.
Maruti Suzuki signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the transport department of the state and the Oil and Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC).
Under this MoU, the transport department will provide 64,000 sq meters land near Rajkot, while the construction including a driving track will be funded by ONGC. The Maruti Suzuki will provide test vehicles, simulators, trainers for 45-days training course. This will be a non-profit centre which shall have the capacity to train more than 25,000 people per year.
The project will take around next 20 months to get ready. Maruti Suzuki is already running six such IDTRs across the country.
