Bharuch: Foreign liquor seized by LCB and Umala police at Sanjali village between Umala and Rajpardi. On seeing the approaching police, bootlegger ran off leaving his bike behind. Foreign liquor worth Rs. 1392000 along with other issues worth Rs. 25000 was seized in the raid.
At Sanjali village in Zagadiya taluka between Rajpardi and Umala, police seized foreign liquor over worth Rs. 14 lacs. The bootlegger escaped when he noticed the approaching police leaving his bike behind. As 31st December is very close, the strict instruction was been given by Superintendent of Bharuch Police to take action against the alcohol prohibition law benders. The Bharuch LCB Incharge PI P.N.Patel got the confirm information from intelligence that Sanjaybhai Somabhai Vasava of Sanjali village had hidden the large stock of foreign liquor in his village.
As per the information, under the guidance of LCB police inspector, PSI of LCB S.N.Desai, PSI A.S.Chauhan and PSI of Umala police station R.M.Vasava formed the various teams and raided at Sanjali village. On seeing the approaching police, bootlegger escaped leaving behind his CBZ bike. In this raid, police found boxes of foreign liquor in the open ground near the farm behind the house of the accused. The total issues worth Rs. 1417000 which includes 10860 tins of 750ml, 180ml and 500ml worth Rs. 1392000 and CBZ bike worth Rs. 25000 were seized.
The further investigation is carried out to catch the fugitive bootlegger. This joint operation of LCB and Umala police has spread fear among the bootleggers.
