Heavy rains batter Rajkot
Rajkot: Heavy to extremely heavy rains have battered several parts of the state during the last 24 hours, particularly Rajkot. The city has recorded some recording breaking showers to the tune of 348 mm in a span of 24 hours from 8:30 am on Friday. This is the highest spell of rains recorded in last 10 years in the period of 24 hours.
The continuation of rains could be witnessed today as well. According to information, many places in the city has been witnessed a flood-like situation including colonies, streets, under bridge, roads.
Underpasses in the city has been interrupted which has disrupted the ormal life of people.
With the continuity in rains, the waters in Ajidam were came upto 1.25 feet whereas in Nadiadam 3 feet.The water level in rains are increasing. The nearby areas have been alerted.
