In the race of start-ups
Surat: After the plan to be the first solar city by 2021, and beating the 14 cities at a national challenge in ‘Leadership in Energy and Environment Designs’ (LEED), Surat is planning to be the emerging startup city.
Surat Municipal Corporation (SMC) is preparing a vision document for a startup and trade facilitation centre on 8,000 square meter land at Parvat Patiya. SMC has appointed a consultant to prepare the vision document. The project will be a game changer for the city in coming decades.
The centre will provide an eco-system for new startups to connect with the national and international business. It will provide support to startups with new innovators in diamond and textiles sectors. It will be ready in two years.
The centre will provide working space to new startups with incubation facility and help to build advance technology. By bringing all the stake holders together, SMC will work as a facilitator. New innovation and research in diamond and textiles sectors will be the key factors of the centre.
