Mumbai attack 26/11: Families deprived of govt assistance

Navsari: The deadly terror attack on the country's financial capital Mumbai on November 26, 2008, in which took away the lives of three sailors of Navsari, the first martyr in the terrorist attack, are still not getting the justice as that 9 years have passed since the attack and Kasab has been hanged till death. So country got the justice but poor families of Navsari's first martyr are still being deprived of government's assistance.

The Attack on country's financial capital Mumbai on 26/11/2008 by terrorists is also called a black day which can never be forgotten. The country and the world shook hands Terror Ajmal Kasab and his terrorists land in India by sea route and captured a boat of Porbandar named Kuber in Gujarat.First of all, in the morning in Vansi Boris village of Jalalpur taluka of Navsari district, three sailors were killed and their body was thrown into the sea.

Navsari fishermen Natu Nanu, the first martyr of 26/11 terrorist attack, Mukesh Ambru Rathod and Pravant Tandal families have not got the justice until today though nine years have passed. Despite convictions, these three were only supporting members of their family and last rites, as per tradition of society, was performed. Kasab had confessed to the killing of these fishermen.

But the government of Gujarat is not ready for this human support even after nine years of terrorist attacks. Earlier the nominal financial assistance was provided to these poor. The villagers and community leaders rallied for justice and dharna with the family. These families are still working hard, however, they now have a system of their own. There is no money to go for help. It is worth mentioning that Navsari's social organizations and social workers also apply to the state and central government.

Although the government's indifferent attitude has justified that according to the law, justice to the fishermen's families could not be given  who dies drowning in the sea if he does not get his dead body, he is declared dead in seven years and given the death certificate but even for their death certificates of Tribe is trying hard, Seven years later, in the eighth year there was a court proceeding.

On the other hand, martyred fishermen families are asking for government assistance even after nine years have passed and for this, they visit the district collector office every year to remind him with an afresh application. Now it is time to look at the development of solar power projects, let us wait for them government helps to poor families or they have to wait for judgement for years.
