Ahmedabad: The state government kicked off the tablet distribution to college youngsters programme from Gujarat University Convention Hall on Friday. Speaking on the occasion, CM said that the "The aim of tablet distribution is to enable students to keep pace with the changing learning pattern of the world." NAMO E-Tab is a step towards Digital India vision of PM Modi & will open new avenues of digital education for the students, he added. Besides this, Rupani also made an announcement that "Colleges & universities across Gujarat to become WiFi enabled, allowing students to get free access to the internet anywhere on the campus". Rupani said that government will get Rs 30 crore through Rs 1000 token amount collected from each student under the scheme.The fund generated will be utilised for facilities of youths, campuses will be made, along with digital classrooms and e-lectures facilities will be there. The State government has made provision to provide tablets worth Rs. 1000 only to four lakh students across the state. While its price is Rs. 15000/. Rupani said that there is a special provision is made in the budget for women, youths, and labours. State Government is committed to tapping new height of development keeping all classes of society together.
