No road, no elections: Villagers of Borda
No road, no elections: Villagers of Borda

Wherever the BJP government talks about development, on the other hand, it is also the reality that even today many villages of Gujarat have not got the basic facilities of today's life. Even after seventy years of independence, people of Nawapura sub-Faliya of Borda village of Pavatapat taluka of Chhotaudepur district are asking for basic facilities.

The people of the village say that because of the formation of Chhotaudedepur district, for the government and other works, one has to travel from about thirty to thirty-five kilometres whereas, the residents of Borda village can reach Chhota Udepur by travelling only 10 kilometres from the road and they are demanding it. Also, this road will benefit other 25 villages too.

In spite of repeated requests to the government bureaucrats and political parties in this regard, nobody is taking an interest. When the elections come, the political parties come and ask for a vote but at this time the eyes of this village are somewhat different.

People living in the absence of basic facilities have decided to boycott the elections and even not allow to enter any political party in the village. The people of the village have pointed out that if the basic facilities are not fulfilled with the demands of the road, the upcoming assembly elections will be completely boycotted.
