Passengers create ruckus over flight delay
Ahmedabad: The passengers allegedly created ruckus at the Sardar Vallabhai Patel International Airport, Ahmedabad on Saturday after a Mumbai-bound flight of SpiceJet got delayed by nearly four hours.As per the information, the passengers were not briefed the reasons behind the flight delay due to which they became angry.
Later the SpiceJet officials apologised for the delay.
The Ahmedabad-Mumbai flight SG 638 which had around 60 passengers onboard was to depart at 10:20 pm on Friday but departed at 2am on Saturday due to technical glitch.Around 50 passengers were also seen arguing with a SpiceJet official as the airline did not give any reason for the delay.
The spokesperson said that SpiceJet staff had ensured that passengers were regularly updated about the flight status and had also served them refreshments.
“Passengers were also given the option to choose another flight on a later date at no extra charges and about 60 passengers rescheduled their travel,” said the official, adding, “SpiceJet is committed to the safety of its passengers, crew and aircraft.
