Union Minister of State for Home Affairs, Kiren Rijiju has lauded the Border Security Force (BSF) for motivating their personnel towards organ donation. Addressing a function here today, Rijiju said the BSF personnel are not only ready to sacrifice their lives in the line of duty by valiantly guarding our frontiers but now have scaled greater heights in lifesaving efforts by pledging organ donation. Rijiju mentioned that Director General BSF, K K Sharma has led by example as he and his family have taken the pledge as organ donors. He said the number of organ donor pledge takers from the BSF has risen sharply from 1,100 to more than 19,000 now. BSF is a trend setter and by BSF’s initiative, misconceptions about organ donation will be alleviated, he added.
