‘Shramik Annapurna Yojana’ for construction workers in Valsad
Valsad: Vijaybhai Rupani, the Chief Minister of Gujarat, has implemented the Shramik Annapurna Yojana for construction workers throughout the state. The scheme will also be implemented in Valsad district. They will be provided packed food just in RS 10.
Shramik Annapurna Scheme has been implemented for the state-wide for the poor people who are working on daily wages across the state. It will also be launched in Valsad district from July 18 in the presence of Tribal, Forest and Tourism Minister Ganpat Singh Wasava and State Cooperation Minister Ishwarbhai Patel. The scheme will benefit to over 4,83,720 construction workers at 83 locations in the state on an experimental basis. While 5000 workers in Valsad district will benefit from this scheme.
The labourer and their families will be provided sagittal food which will have 1800 calories at a nominal cost RS. 10. While it will cost RS. 29 to the government. The food will include five loaves, 250 grams of meat vegetables/pulses, pickle or sauce, green chillies. They will provide ‘Sukhadi once a week.
The food will be cooked in the food laboratory established by the state government and supplied to the distribution centre in the nearby areas. The beneficiaries can obtain the Tiffin from 7 to 10:30 in the morning.
This scheme will be started in Valsad, Dharampur and Vapi. Besides this, the workers will be informed of’ social security scheme, education related plans, health, women empowerment schemes which have been implemented by the state government.
