Heavy snowstorms in east China’s Anhui province killed thirteen people since Jan 3 – according to the government.
As per reports of Xinhua (Web portal) – 2017 snowstorms is the worse than2008, so far it affected 1.06 million people in the province, causing direct economic losses of 1.26 billion yuan ($190 million) and 790 million yuan ($122 million) in agriculture.
China Meteorological Administration (CMA) has upgraded its snowstorm warning to orange for several central provinces. Heavy snowfall has resulted in rail transport disruptions in several areas. The on-going snowstorm & sleet has triggered road closures, flight delays and cancellation.
