Vadodara International Marathon dashes off to great start

Vadodara: Despite a chilly morning for Barodians, the city celebrated the sports festival on Sunday. CM Vijay Rupani flagged off the seventh edition of marathon from Navlakhi ground and termed the Marathon as the sign of the collective unity and equal society.

Vadodara International Marathon this year has received a record number of registrations. Around 91,000 registered themselves for participating in the festival.

With this, the 2018 marathon has broken all the previous records as the number of registrations this year are 17,000 more compared to the 2017 edition of marathon.

On your mark

The first flagged off for 42 km conducted at 5.45 am for full marathon, the second flag off for the half marathon and relay race conducted at 6 am. The flag off for 10 km time run conducted at 6.15 am.

On the Schedule

There was water/energy drink stations, first aid centres and ambulances throughout the route. Complementary breakfast also provided to the marathoners and the finishers will get a medal and T-shirt.

There is a food court, open to everyone.

Besides this, around 50 Swacchta Mitra lead the Swacchta Run followed by Jawan Run and Divyang Run.
